Based in Palermo, he is the author of the iconic, award-winning photo of Judges Falcone and Borsellino, icons of the war against mafia. Since 2003, he has been staff photographer at Reuters. Reporter and politician, he has also documented the journeys of John Paul II and the elections of Benedict XVI and of Pope Francis.
